The 7-Day Private Tour by Car – Ha Giang, Cao Bang & Ba Be is thoughtfully designed to provide a perfect mix of adventure, culture, and relaxation. Each day offers a new chapter of discovery – from breathtaking landscapes to immersive local experiences. Follow the itinerary below to see what awaits you on this unforgettable journey.
The first day of our adventure, you will be met by our driver and tour guide at 7:30 a.m to start our 8-hour drive from Hanoi to Ha Giang. Along the route, you can recognize the change of scenery, from the endless rice fields of the Red River Delta to the green tea plantations under the foothills when entering the mountainous northern region. Arriving in the town of Tuyen Quang, we will stop for a short break and lunch in a local restaurant.
After that we continue to Hoang Su Phi, a remote and stunning area of Ha Giang. It is famous for its terraced rice fields and fascinating local culture, you may come across the Nung, Tay, Red Dzao and La Chi, just some of the many ethnic minority groups who have settled here. Late afternoon, we arrive at your accommodation in Thong Nguyen village, a wide valley populated by the Tay Ethnic group. You'll have 2 hours for trekking to Nam Hong village. You might relax and have a herbal bath when we stay overnight here.

You can spend this morning relaxing at Nam Hong Village before we pass the mountain roads from Nam Hong village to Tam Son town. Passing Ha Giang city, you will go to Minh Tan village (23 km), then Bac Sum pass (5 km more) where you can stop to take pictures. Your next stop is Quan Ba Heaven Gate which is located about 50 km north of Ha Giang town and the gateway to the Dong Van geological park. The winding road looks like an endless way to the heaven. The Heaven Gate is located on the top of the Bac Sum pass. It also is the place which keeps the beautiful legend about Twin Mountains. After that we take a short walk to Nam Dam Village. We will rest, have dinner and overnight in Nam Dam village.

After breakfast, we will continue our journey. From Nam Dam, we will drive to Lung Khuy to visit Lung Khuy Cave which is considered as the most beautiful cave in Ha Giang. We will have 1 hour trekking to visit the cave. The landscape is amazing and the local life and the culture of the hill tribes such as the Tay and Hmong is something that will be very memorable for your trip.
Afterwards, our drive leads us to Lung Tam village to visit Hop Tien linen cooperative, the home of 120 skillful women. You can learn how they weave and dye fabric made of hemp plant to make the local brocade products. Keep driving to Thai An village and Duong Thuong village before getting to Lung Ho village. We then take a long trek (15 km/9 miles) from villages to villages and head to our accommodation at a homestay in Du Gia village. (the trekking path could be changed by tour guide, because it depend on the weather)
Attraction, villages & Town: Nam Dam village – Lung Khuy cave –a short walk (5 km/3 miles) to Trang Kim village – Lung Tam village to visit Hop Tien linen cooperative –Thai An village – Duong Thuong village – Lung Ho village – Take a long trek (15 km/9 miles) from villages to villages – Du Gia village
Your morning will begin with a wonderful trip through some villages as Pho Cao, Sung La Village. We make a stop at Tham Ma slope in Pho Cao village. Afterwards we will make another stop in Sa Phin Village, giving you the chance to visit Hmong King’s Palace, who ruled over the region, controlled opium production and trading until 1945. Continue drive through the rock plateau of Dong Van, over Ma Pi Leng Pass to enjoy its magnificent and spectacular scenery- a truly beautiful gorge, one of the most spectacular natural sights in the country. And the we have 2 hours for trekking and take the boat trip to visit Tu San canyon, Nho Que river. We check in the homestay in Pa Vi village then relax, have dinner and overnight in Pa Vi village.

Relax at Pa Vi village until 10.30 a.m Say goodbye to Ha Giang to continue our trip to a new land. The road connecting Meo Vac and Cao Bang is still under construction what makes the drive relatively long in spite of few kilometres. However, the landscape is among the most beautiful of Vietnam. We cross the wild regions of the mythical province of Ha Giang then stop for lunch in Bao Lac. Arrive in Cao Bang at 6 p.m, we check in hotel, relax and have dinner then overnight in Cao Bang City.

A full day excursion today! Lying on the borderline with China, Ban Gioc is regarded as the best waterfalls in northern Vietnam. You will raft along the stream and get close-up photos of the waterfall. You may also take a short trek up the source of the waterfalls with incredible surrounding. You also visit Nguom Ngao cave before drive to Pac Ngoi village locate in Ba Be district. Arrive in Pac Ngoi village about 6 pm. Relax, dinner with family, overnight at stilt homestay at Pac Ngoi village.

After breakfast, we take the 4h-hour boat trip to the Ba Be lake then continue our cruise towards the scenic Dau Dang waterfall. Fairy Pond and An Ma Temple will be our next stops. Back to Pac Ngoi Village for lunch, we then take our drive back to Hanoi where our tour ends at 6 p.m at your hotel
