Embark on a breathtaking 6-day journey from Hanoi to the remote and majestic northeast of Vietnam. This small-group adventure takes you deep into Ha Giang province — home to dramatic limestone peaks, winding mountain passes, and vibrant hill tribe cultures.

Itinerary

The 6-Day Ha Giang Loop by Car from Hanoi is thoughtfully designed to provide a perfect mix of adventure, culture, and relaxation. Each day offers a new chapter of discovery – from breathtaking landscapes to immersive local experiences. Follow the itinerary below to see what awaits you on this unforgettable journey.

You will be met by our driver and tour guide at 7:30 a.m to start your 6-day off-the-beaten-track trip to Ha Giang. We begin our 8-hour drive following a route that you can recognize the change of scenery, from the endless rice fields of the Red River Delta to the green tea plantations under the foothills when entering the mountainous northern region. Arriving in the town of Tuyen Quang, we will stop for a short break and lunch in a local restaurant.
After that we continue to Hoang Su Phi, a remote and stunning area of Ha Giang. It is famous for its terraced rice fields and fascinating local culture, you may come across the Nung, Tay, Red Dzao and La Chi, just some of the many ethnic minority groups who have settled here. Late afternoon around 3.00 pm, we arrive at Thong Nguyen village, a wide valley populated by the Tay Ethnic group, from there if you have 2 hours trekking to Nam Hong village where we stay overnight. You might relax and have a herbal bath when we reach Nam Hong village.
Attraction, villages & Town: Hanoi – Tan Quang – Thong Nguyen Village

On this day, we will pass the mountain roads from Nam Hong village to Quan Ba town. You can enjoy the incredible view along Happiness Road. Your first stop is Quan Ba Heaven Gate which is located about 50 km north of Ha Giang City. It is also the gateway to Dong Van geological park. The winding roads will wake your inside desire of conquering up. The Heaven Gate is located on the top of the Bac Sum pass, looking down Twin Mountains. After that we will go to Lung Khuy cave, which is considered as the most beautiful cave in Ha Giang then take a short trekking through villages. We will rest, have dinner and overnight in Nam Dam village.

Attraction, villages & Town: Nam Hong village – Ha Giang City – Minh Tan Village – Bac Sum Slope– Quyet Tien Village – Quan Ba Pass – Heaven’s Gate – Twin Mountain – Lung Khuy Cave- Trekking through Villages – Nam Dam Village.

After breakfast, we will continue our journey. From Nam Dam, we drive pass some villages of Yen Minh district and spectacular passes as Tham Ma Slope, Nine Circle Pass . Though they are quite challenging, you will be rewarded with the breathtaking views. You will also know how people live in remote parts of Vietnam when we drive through the villages of Pho Cao, Sung La and Lung Hoa. A stop will be made to visit the residence of the Vuong Family, still called “Hmong King’s Palace”. Then, we will go to visit Lung Cu flag tower and the northest point of Vietnam  before head to our accommodation Dong Van old town.

Attraction, villages & Town: Nam Dam Village – Yen Minh town – Tham Ma Slope– Pho Cao Village – 9 Circle Pass – Sung La Village – Hmong King Palace – Lung Cu flag tower - Northest point of Vietnam - Dong Van old town.

 After breakfast we leave Dong Van Town to enter the highlight of the journey, We will make few stops for admiring the scenery and taking some photos of Ma Pi Leng pass- the most hazardous road section in the Dong Van Karst Plateau, where the terrain is exceptionally steep, rugged and rocky.

After that we take a short trek to the boat stop of Nho Que river. Then we will take a boat to see Tu San canyon  and go to Pa Vi village where we stay overnight

Villages & attractions: Ma Pi Leng pass - Nho Que river - Tu San canyon - Pa Vi village 

Enjoy the cool and fresh air along the road from Pa Vi village to Lung Phin village, a stop will be made to immerse yourself in

Lung Phin Market (if today is Lung Phi market's day) then drive to M-shaped road. After that, we will be on our way to Mau Due village continue the scenic ride back to Lung Ho village then Du Gia

village. We will take short trekking to visit Du Gia waterfall and you can swim at this waterfall. We will rest and stay overnight at a homestay in Du Gia village.

Attractions, Villages & Town: Lung Phin village (and market) - M-shaped road - Lung Ho village - Du Gia village

Today we will visit another village like Duong Thuong village, Hop Tien cooperative that located in Lung Tam village. After that we come back to Hanoi. Tour ends in Hanoi about 6 pm
